What inspired you to travel?

I felt inspired once I entered my previous relationship. My ex and I developed the common goal to travel twice a year, and we were able to make it happen. We wanted to see national attractions as well as other countries. I felt that I had the best person to make it happen with at the time.

What did you learn about love through travel?

I really enjoyed being able to travel with someone I loved at the time. Travel is amplified when you share it with someone you have that intimate connection with. Travel definitely brings people closer together. I learned that life is so much bigger than the bubble of work and my local community. I developed a deeper sense of love for myself because I set goals and made them happen. I was also able to develop a love for other cultures.

What is a travel tip you would share with others?

The only tip that comes to mind is to do it. Some people limit themselves and may not think it’s realistic to travel and travel often, but it is so realistic. It’s worth it, and everyone should make it happen, even if it’s a weekend getaway.

What else would you like our TraveLovers to know?

There are some amazing cultural experiences within the United States. I gained a huge appreciation for New Orleans culture when I visited for Mardi Gras. I also love the magical ambiance at Disney. There can be wonders found in your own backyard.

Where have you visited so far? I’ve visited Mexico and 5 island countries, 4 of which were via cruise line.

Where is your next trip? I just returned from Mexico and my next trip has yet to be confirmed, but I’m excited to plan for it. It will definitely happen.

What resonated with you from your trip to Mexico? I really enjoyed Mexican culture. The people there were the friendliest I’ve met, so far.

How do you balance travel and working?

I am a lifelong teacher and student. I founded my own business, The Private Yogi Coach and Counselor, LLC, during the U.S. quarantine in 2020, while providing weekly sessions to close friends and family. I have worked as a therapist both outpatient and in home before becoming a Regional Director for a mental health program in the nonprofit sector. In order to cope with the stress of life, I wrote a goal to begin practicing heated yoga at least twice a month. The rest is history. I fell in love with the practice and philosophy surrounding yoga and quickly realized that the possibilities were limitless and that the practice of yoga occurs both on and off the mat. Travel presents similar benefits, the possibilities are endless and it contributes to the mind, body, and soul.
